Climate change is one of the most serious environmental issues facing the world today. It affects ecosystems, economies and human health, and its effects are becoming increasingly visible. This essay will explain the main causes of this problem and suggest measures that governments and individuals can take to address it.

The main cause of climate change is the increasing amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere. In particular, the burning of coal, oil and gas for electricity, transport and industry produces large quantities of carbon dioxide. Another important cause is deforestation, because fewer trees are available to absorb this gas. In addition, modern agriculture and some industrial activities release other greenhouse gases, such as methane. As a result, human activities have increased the concentration of these gases and contributed to rising global temperatures.

Governments can play a central role by reducing reliance on fossil fuels and encouraging cleaner alternatives. They could invest in renewable energy, improve public transport and introduce stricter limits on industrial emissions. Governments can also protect forests and support businesses that develop low-carbon technologies. Individuals have a role to play as well. For example, people can use public transport, reduce unnecessary energy consumption, choose products carefully and avoid wasting food. If these actions become common, they can reduce emissions and support wider environmental policies.

In conclusion, climate change is mainly caused by greenhouse gas emissions from energy use, deforestation and other human activities. Governments should promote cleaner energy and stronger environmental regulations, while individuals can reduce their own emissions through more responsible daily choices. Both levels of action are necessary to limit the long-term effects of climate change.
